This is your first step.
You will receive personally curated real-time interior design advice and direction in a 60-90 minute consultation format. Whether it's a room needing a refresh, an aesthetic direction to carry throughout the home, color selection, procuring new furnishings and decor or starting the process towards a kitchen, bath or whole house remodel, we will walk you through the first steps of the transformation.
The initial design consultation typically runs between 60-90 minutes. Here we'll start to get to know each other and together we'll discuss your spaces functional requirements, your design vision and style preferences, your budget and your desired timeline for the project. What do you love about your space? What do you loathe? Both questions give us great insight into where we’re heading. We'll cover any questions and challenges you might have, as well as brainstorming about your home's potential. We’ll add value and professional advice, design direction, share ideas and styling tips. From here, we will create our Scope Of Work which lays out the next steps and includes your estimated design time.
*all additional design work is billed hourly at $195/hr
**Initial Design Consultation does not include mood-boards, design plans, renderings or detailed shopping lists with product selections. These will be provided in the Detailed Design phase of the project. **
Color consultation: $450
This 60-90 minute collaborative design consultation is geared towards choosing a color palette and specific paint colors for your spaces.
We will discuss how you want your space to feel and function, referring to inspiration images to help you envision the possibilities.
If you have a Pinterest board or saved images that show what you love, please send those to me prior to our meeting.

REMODEL PLANNING consultation: $450
Planning for a kitchen, bath or whole house remodel? We will walk you through the steps of the transformation, starting here.
This initial remodel consultation typically runs between 60-90 minutes. Here we'll start to get to know each other and together we'll discuss your spaces functional requirements, your design vision and style preferences, your budget and your desired timeline for the project.
What do you love and loathe about your space? What are the issues you would like to resolve or the areas that need improvement, functionally or aesthetically? The answers to these questions give us valuable insight into where we’ll take our design. We'll cover any questions and challenges you might have, as well as brainstorming about your home's potential.
From here, we will create our Scope Of Work which lays out the next steps and includes your estimated design time.

**Note on Process: Remodel design will involve the following elements: aesthetic concept (mood boards, fixtures, finishes, products, colors), space planning (functional layout), plans, elevations and 3-D renderings, product selection (sourcing and procurement optional), electrical plans and finally, detailed project plans. These will NOT be provided at the initial meeting but will be created during the detailed design phase of the project. **

Understanding the Procurement Process with Kristin Alvarado Design
At KAD our goal is your Delight.
Our procurement process is tailored to take the stress of purchasing, tracking, managing and receiving your approved fixtures, furnishings and finishes off of your plate and ensuring that your pieces arrive correct and in perfect condition.
How it Works:
When you opt for KAD procurement services, rest assured that the product management of your items is in capable hands and know that every item will be presented to you for approval prior to any purchases being made.
Approval: Once you give us the green light, you will be invoiced for your items at MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price), plus shipping and tax.
Payment: Upon receipt of payment, we'll swiftly proceed to ordering your approved items.
**Note: Should you come across an item at a lower price elsewhere, you are welcome to order this item on your own, just give us a heads-up to avoid any duplication of purchases. We're here to streamline this process for you!
Fee: Procurement services are billed at $125/hr for the sourcing, ordering, tracking and receiving of your approved items and should anything arrive damaged, we will manage the return and replacement of these items. Procurement fees will be included in your monthly invoice.
**Note: Any necessary sourcing of alternate pieces will be billed at the regular design rate of $195/hr.
Inspection Services:
We are required to inspect each item ordered and received within 24 hours of delivery. For your peace of mind, we offer two options for inspecting received items:
Client Inspection: You may choose to inspect the items yourself (if delivered to your location) and update our team on their status within 24 hours of delivery.
KAD Inspection: We will conduct inspections on your behalf; time and travel expenses billed accordingly at our standard hourly procurement rate.
Damages:
Should any damages occur during transit or delivery, the KAD team will handle the return and satisfactory replacement of the damaged item(s). Time will be billed at our standard hourly procurement rate.
Payment Options:
We make payment convenient for you. Let us know which method you prefer, and we will tailor your invoices accordingly.
ACH: note: ACH processing fees (typically 1%) may be applied.
Retainer: aka cash or check. Your balance will be reflected on your periodic invoices and can be replenished as needed.
Credit Card: note: processing fees assessed by the processor (typically 2.9%) will be applied.
**Note: additional fees are subject to change based on our processor's policies.
